It is known fact that Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and its largest city, with a population of 570,806 as of 2019. According to this fact, Vilnius town offers to its’ citizens and guest one additional type of transportation – trolleybus. Both bus and trolleybus networks belongs to Vilnius Public Transport. Since 2017 a 30 minute ticket costs 0.65 euro, a 60 minute ticket costs 0.90 euro and a single ticket bought on board costs 1.00 euro. There are other types of tickets, both short-term and long-term. Various discounts for pupils, students and elder people are available.
We should notice in 2007 was introduced electronic systems of monthly tickets, that made life more comfortable and modern.
But in 2012 this systems was changed one more time to the newest system, which is called Vilnius Citizen Card. The best thing of this cards is that there are no more single trip tickets, they were replaced with other type tickets – 30 and 60 minutes.
Vilnius, as other Lithuanian cities also offers different alternative types of transportation such as uber, taxies, bolt and the most popular is citybee. The last one is only for those, who has driving license.
